The Hummingbird and Peregrine are 2 of our most iconic yoyo series. They truly defined yoyofriends throughout the years. Both are iconic designs that stood the test of time. Their variation keeps getting better and better. The peregrine series started as a project to match the hummingbird in terms of quality and performance,  One of the most ambitious yoyos in the hummingbird series was the Tiss Hummingbird, really pushing the limit of the Titanium plus stainless steel construction. Now in 2025. We want to do it again for the Peregrine series.

First we picked Peregrine X for the base design of the yoyo, due to its wider catch zone, and newer iteration of ss rim design pushing the weight even more on the outside. We loved the dimension of the Peregrine X. The diameter is not that big and the width is just right, making the yoyo extremely agile and comp viable. So we did not change the dimension at all on this project. The first draft of the design came out and it was great. However, the weight of the yoyo was not changed. Looking at the history of Hummingbird vs TiSS Hummingbird. The TiSS variant had a 0.5g increase in weight. Making the yoyo more powerful and stable. This complemented the slightly hollow, and unique titanium feel of the yoyo. The titanium wall on this design is around 0.5-0.6mm. We decided to up the weight by around 0.5g as well for the TiSS peregrine X. The first prototype was then made.

The prototype played fantastic, the power and stability saw an increase as well, while keeping the agility like the normal Peregrine X. Other than the usual testers, we let one of our newest players and rising star, James Heder, to test the yoyo. His competition yoyo at that time was the Peregrine X. He absolutely loved the TiSS Peregrine X and we concluded it is ready for production.
