Yoyofriends has been around for nearly a decade. Over the years, we've primarily used 6061 and 7068 aluminum alloys, without ever venturing into the development of 7075 yoyos—even though 7075 has long been a mature and widely used material in the market.
In 2024, after discussing with many other brands, we finally decided to explore 7075 for ourselves.
For the design of this yoyo, we drew inspiration from our team member Tony, who suggested creating a practice-oriented model. The idea was to combine the aesthetic of our Gravitation series with a more O-shaped profile. We were all on board with this creative direction.
When the first prototype came out, it weighed in at 66 grams. At first, we were concerned it might be too heavy, so we reached out to friends and team members for feedback. Special thanks to Tony for his invaluable input during the testing phase.
To our surprise, the yoyo received overwhelming praise. It turned out to be an excellent monometal—smooth, fun, and well-balanced. The weight is evenly distributed throughout the O-shaped body, providing a pleasant, comfortable feel in hand. It's a perfect choice for serious practice and competition prep.
About the Name of This Yo-Yo
We're looking for a name that conveys a sense of ease, enjoyment, and stress relief, reflecting the yo-yo’s incredibly comfortable feel in use.
Names that suggest feelings like “Ease”, “ cheer”, or “alleviation” are under consideration, as we want to evoke a laid-back, carefree vibe. Visually, this concept can be supported through the use of soft, rounded typography and circular design elements that emphasize relaxation and smooth flow.
